In 2013, self-defense groups originated in the state of MichoacĂĄn with the aim of eradicating cartels from their communities. But it was not until 2014, when in Nueva Italia, MichoacĂĄn, the self-defense groups looted and burned properties linked to drug trafficking, including the only existing cinema in the town. "Now what are we going to do if we don't have a cinema?" Asks one of the voices in the documentary.
